Words I Held

New Page: Open Calls

I just launched a new page on this website: Open Calls. Here I’ll share any current open calls I’m hosting. The first one up is Words I Held for You Volume 0.5, my new compilation zine series. I made a physical zine that I brainstormed over before and they came out great! I highly recommend Wasted Ink Zine Distro for classes and buying cool zines.

I got 15 copies, five of which are spoken for, the other ten I’m selling at a zine fest fast approaching. I’m super excited but need to buy my plane ticket first haha. I already ordered copies of zines and new business cards. I have a lot of folding and packing ahead of me. But it will get done! I’m actually surprised that making the page and google form didn’t take me too long. Everything I do is easier than I thought. Which is great—if it weren’t for the psychic cost of anxiety and worrywarting and stressing. But I’m handling my anxiety better than I did a few weeks ago which is fantastic, really.

On Open Calls, you can read the full zine for free and I provided image descriptions and further information. You can also upload submissions on this google form or if not accessible, just email me at wordsiheld at gmail dot com. Feel free to reach out with any questions or if you need guidance, happy to help.

I chose November 23rd, 2025 as the deadline because I want to ensure I have enough submissions and I didn’t want to rush this. It’ll be my first compilation series and I don’t want to screw it up. I rather take my time and be thoughtful with how I lay it out. I know I can do this well. I just need to give myself an ample shot.

I’m getting more confident and I’m growing and glowing so much now. I’m really excited to see what I do next haha. It feels good to feel hopeful for my future. I’m gonna do all I can to ensure it stays. I hope you’re faring well, wherever you are. I’m rooting for you hehe.
